e   Membership - Levels & Benefits

Traditionally, “membership” meant being part of both ANA and NHNA.  However, in the interest of providing nurses with more options for professional affiliation, it is now possible to belong to either the state or national association.

Rates for each level are outlined on the application form itself.

·    Dual ANA-NHNA Membership is still the ‘gold standard’ and offers the richest package of benefits, support, professional advantages, voting rights and other participation opportunities.  Members enjoy the full panoply of ANA benefits, as well as all the advantages of connecting locally with a professional nurses association. Click for details Reduced rate levels are available for nursing students, new graduates (for the first year post-graduation), and RN’s who are not employed.

·    NHNA-Only Membership is available to Registered Nurses who live OR work in New Hampshire  . Member privileges include the rights to:
o   Vote on issues at our annual meeting;
o   Vote for elected officials of NHNA;
o   Participate on any NHNA committee;
o   Hold an elected position;
o   Enroll in NHNA group liability coverage.

Benefits of NHNA Membership include NH conference discounts; subscription to NH Nursing News, a new monthly email newsletter to begin in September, 2007; legislative alerts and conference invitations – plus some of the discounts and free services available to Dual ANA & NHNA Members.
NOTE: We will be continually working to add a range of discount programs – the most recent of which include a 10% discount on Shoes & Scrubs (see Marketplace section of our home page) and up to 50% off Boston Celtics tickets .  (Suggestions welcome as to companies with whom you would like to see us partner.  Email ideas and any company contacts to:  Avery@nhnurses.org)

·    ANA only membership is also an option. See www.ANA.org

·    NHNA Associate Membership is open to New Hampshire  LPN’s, LNA’s, Healthcare Professionals and friends of nursing from the general public who would like to connect with our membership community or just support the nursing profession.  Associate members will receive NH Nursing News – and a monthly email newsletter to begin in September, 2007 – along with legislative alerts and conference invitations.  This level of membership does not include voting privileges or the ability to hold NHNA office.

·    Student Nurse Associate Membership offers a deeply discounted rate to those students who are also members of the NH Student Nurse Association (NHNSA) to encourage your participation in both organizations. These members, indeed, will help to shape the future of nursing.
