Application for continuing education review
Use this application to submit
a single course or conference for review. Once approved, your
course will be accredited for two years, allowing you to conduct
it as often as you like within that time period.
The fees for the review are based on the number of contact hours
you are applying for. Information on fees is included in the
application package.

Application for approval as a continuing
education provider
This Continuing Education Application is for organizations
and institutions that frequently produce continuing education
conferences and offerings. Accreditation as a Provider allows
your organization to design and conduct educational sessions
without submitting individual applications for review each
time you plan a session.
The Approval period is three years at a cost of $1,650 and the
application process is more in depth than for individual
courses.

Note:
This list may be useful in determining if a program you
attended (or are considering) was accredited, and if so, how
you might contact the organization. If you attended any CE
Event provided by these facilities after their date of
approval, it is likely that the program was accredited by NHNA
and ANCC.

NOTE:
CHANGES TO CONTACT HOUR CALCULATION EFFECTIVE 1/1/2007
The definition of contact hour has changed from a unit of
measurement that describes 50 minutes of an organized learning
activity that is either didactic or clinical experience to a
unit of measurement that describes 60 minutes of an organized
learning activity that is either a didactic or clinical
experience. 60 Minutes Contact Hour Implementation Plan will
guide you in implementing this change.
Example:
Q: "My organization offered a program in 2006 using the
50 minute contact hour. If I offer the program again in 2007,
must I recreate the file with a 60 minute contact hour?"
A: No. You can continue to use the file with the
50-minute contact hour until it expires at the two-year mark.
Any new activities produced after January 1, 2007 must
indicate that one contact hour is 60 minutes.
