This award will be given to a Post-secondary educator or staff
development specialist who contributes significantly to the
education or continuing education of nurses in New Hampshire.
Student Nurse Excellence Award - click on

Student Nurse Excellence Award is awarded to one student on
each campus of the nursing Schools in New Hampshire. Winners are
selected from among their classmates. Candidate is classmates’
choice for the nurse they would want to have at their bedside
and display more than good grades or high test scores. She/he
embodies all the finest characteristics that make up the whole
nurse. Student Nurses Associations (SNA) at any Nursing School
in New Hampshire may select a winner for their campus.
Nursing Research Award -

Nursing Research has traditionally been an area of focus for any
professional association, and NHNA is no different. The Nursing
Research Award recognizes excellence in nursing research.
Because this award is based on merit, the award will be given
periodically when deserving candidates are brought to the
attention of NHNA. This award will be given to a nurse whose
research demonstrates advancement of nursing knowledge & quality
patient care.
Summer Awards:
Deadline July 15th
Legislator of the Year
This award is given periodically to New Hampshire legislators
who demonstrate a commitment to common values and goals in the
legislative and political arena.
Nominations for this award may only be advanced by members of
the NHNA Government Affairs Commission. The Government Affairs
Commission determines the recipient of this award.
Friend of Nursing -

This award will be given to a non-nurse whose work in the
healthcare field has contributed significantly to the
advancement of the profession.
Fall Awards:

Nurse of the Year
The NHNA Nurse of the Year Award is
given for exemplary service and dedication to Nursing in New
Hampshire. Recipients of past awards have not only served an
employer but have gone above and beyond to promote the Voice,
Visibility and Viability of the nursing profession in New
Hampshire. The NHNA Nurse of the Year is determined by the Board
of Directors as an individual who exemplifies leadership,
service, practice and a love for the profession.
Supportive Nursing Environment -

This award is given each year to an employer of nursing for
demonstrating characteristics, policies and practices that
support and foster the development of the nursing profession and
individual nurses.
President’s Award
The NHNA President's Award is
given at the exclusive discretion of the President of NHNA. The
Office of the President of NHNA provides a unique vantage point
to recognize exceptional individuals who are worthy of
recognition. The President is afforded absolute latitude in
determining the criteria and qualifications for this award, and
may award more than one President's Award each year.

The NHNA Leadership award is given to the New Hampshire Nurse
Leader who positively impacts her/his healthcare organization by
converting the challenges encountered in the workplace into
great opportunities using leadership skills. Eligibility for
this award includes those employed in leadership roles as well
as those who volunteer for leadership positions within
organizations.
Staff Nurse Award -

goes above and beyond the call of duty to demonstrate leadership
and excellence in the practice of nursing.
