How Contact the New Hampshire State Legislators

The Granite State boasts the second largest legislative body in the world. Our citizen legislature is a substantial part of the New Hampshire Way. All tolled, we have 400 members of the state House of Representatives and 24 members of the state Senate. Rather than trying to maintain such a lengthy list, we believe the best way to direct you to your state legislators is to though the New Hampshire General Court's "Who's My Legislator" site. To use this directory, just select your town from the drop down menu and click.

We would like make note of these nurses in the NH House of Representatives! Special congratulations and thanks to them for their hard work in representing the citizens of NH – including its many thousands of nurses!

  • Alida Milham—Belknap County - District 5
  • Laurie Harding—Grafton County - District 11
  • Rich DiPentima—Rockingham County - District 16
  • Lynne Blakenbeker—Merrimack County - District 11

NHNA encourages members and nurses to contact your legislators. Part of the New Hampshire Way is based on our citizen legislature. The system is deliberately designed so that your legislators come from your neighborhood. Your legislators want to hear from you; call them, write to them, email, meet them at the grocery store, whatever it takes to have a voice.

When you contact your legislator, be sure to include the following information:

  1. Your Name
  2. Where you live (they want to know that you live in their district)
  3. The issue you are concerned about
  4. The bill number or LSR number that identifies the legislation
  5. Your opinion - with some supporting information
  6. Tell them how you want them to vote
