Take Action Now to Support the Use of Nurse Practitioners in Primary Care

Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz (D-PA) and Senators Maria Cantwell (D-WA) and Susan Collins (R-ME) recently introduced the "Preserving Patient Access to Primary Care Act of 2009" (H.R. 2350/S. 1174) to address the shortage of primary care providers.  The bill would create scholarships and loans for primary care providers who serve in critical shortage areas, as well as support an interdisciplinary model in which providers, physicians and nurses, are able to practice collaboratively and to the full extent of their education and licensure on behalf of the patient.

Please email your members of Congress and ask them to cosponsor H.R. 2350/S. 1174 TODAY!
